Topeka North Outreach was chartered in 1971 as a 501 ©(3) organization. This all volunteer group (TNO has NO paid staff positions) serves residents of the Oakland and North Topeka communities. The group is comprised of 20 churches from the area that have united to extend a helping hand to needs that are not being met by governmental or other volunteer organizations.
As our communities are quite diverse, we strive to offer a variety of much needed services that other agencies are not able to offer. These include but are not limited to emergency assistance providing food, limited financial help paying for prescriptions, utility bills and housing; a senior citizen program, and a youth program.
Topeka North Outreach cooperates with other/ emergency aid agencies in the community and we participate in the MAAC Link system, which helps protect against the potential abuse or overuse of the aid provided and allows us to help as many people in the community as possible
We receive our funding, food and other items from private donations through churches and individuals, Project Topeka, U/S. Postal Workers Food Drive, CROP Walk and the TNO Annual Fall Festival.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
I needed clothes and you clothed me.
I was sick and you looked after me.
I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me.
