Operation Backpack “Summer Club"
Operation Backpack Summer Club is a weekend feeding program working to alleviate childhood hunger in Topeka and to encourage children in need. To ensure the nutritional needs of children are met when school is not in session, the program provides a small sack of food for youth to take home for the weekend. The food sack contains a two day supply of nutritional, kid-friendly snacks and single serving size food items that are easy for youth to prepare.
Topeka North Outreach, Inc. (TNO) volunteers will distribute Weekend Food Sacks this summer to eligible children age 1-18, who live in North Topeka and Oakland. There are three Summer Pick-up Sites to choose from to pick up your Weekend Food Sacks - Garfield or Oakland Community Center, and Logan Elementary school (SEE FRIDAY PICK-UP DATES & TIMES BELOW.)
Eligibility will be determined based on need and availability of program funds. Operation Backpack is provided by member churches of TNO with donations received from area businesses and organizations. Please call 785-286-1370 with questions.
