Operation Backpack Ministry

76.46% of children in Topeka Public Schools fall in the "economically disadvantaged" category according to the Kansas State Department of Education website (2011-2012 statistics.) That's close to 11,000 children right here in Topeka!  TNO is helping by providing school supplies at the beginning of each school year, and providing weekend meals to approximately 500 children per week.  But we needyour help!  You can drop donations off at any of our member churches.  Here's a list of things needed. 
TNO packs meals for children in need that attend State Street, Quincy, Logan, Northern Hills Elementary, West Indianola, North Fairview, and Elmont Elementary schools Mathes Learning Center, Chase and Seaman Middle schools and Seaman High School in North Topeka on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., this year beginning on Sept. 7, 2017 at Indian Creek Elementary School (4303 NE Indian Creek Rd.)  Park and enter in front, Disabled parking in back.

Donations are accepted at any of our member churches, as well as on site, and any help packing is always welcome and needed.  Please come join us for fun and fellowship, as well as the opportunity to help children in the North Topeka area.  For more information about the "Operation Backpack program, email the TNO Youth Director @ [email protected]

Parents/Gaurdians of children that attend  State Street, Quincy, and any Seaman USD345 school in North Topeka can apply for a weekend food sack by clicking here for the online application form.
